Red Alpha the story behind the name

Posted by Ruben Escalona on

In 1991 I graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington Texas. I had made up my mind in junior high that I was joining the military after watching an ROTC drill team presentation. It was during Desert Storm that I started exercising with a local Marine Corp recruiting office as a junior in High School . The Marine Corp however would not recognize my 4 years of Air Force ROTC but the Army did and gave me 2 extra Ranks because of it so I chose to enlist in the Army. After Army Basic Training I was stationed in Ft. Irwin California where I was awarded a service medal for 18 rotations at the National Training Center which is what Ft. Irwin is. It was there that I was assigned to the 164th Chemical company, 3rd Platoon Red Squad. Third Platoon had a Red & Blue squad and each squad had 4-5 members Alpha through Echo. This is where I got the name Red Alpha. So 3 years ago after operating as Escalona & Associates for 2 years I decided to change the name to Red Alpha Custom Prints. Escalona & Associates is still active with our vendor relations and vehicle wrap financing but when it came time to think of a new name it didn’t take long at all. Red Alpha isn’t just a name I thought of that sounded cool or one that feeds my ego, its part of who I am. I may not always be in the line of businesses I’m currently in but I will always be Red Alpha
